'27 When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold.
28 He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer. '
..Besides the fact that he gave her up as a sacrifice to be gang raped, his total lack of concern or awareness of what she has been through at this point suddenly strikes me as unrealistically callous, having read this again.. We wouldn't even act in that way with a dog that has just been massively abused, can you imagine?? ''alright, you've had a lie down now boy, let's go..''

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

Having come across this thread, it's strange, it's something that I've never understood. The bible teach book doesn't seem to answer.
The things that you see on some nature programmes make you wonder why Jehovah made animals in this way. He must have given the snakes the ability to produce venom, and some parasites do horrendous things.
Why?? -

Active JW's, can you defend "THE TRUTH?"
by DATA-DOG inas of yet, no member of the jehovah's witness faith can defend their unique beliefs.
when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.

It has become apparent that I have not been taught the truth, especially after having read jwfacts. And now I think about it, why did Jehovah have no representatives on earth from 1st century after the apostles until 1918? That always bugged me.. Plenty to think about.. Thanks for your patience and questions that made me think.

So, Heavensgate11 has refused to even acknowledge my apology or reply to my question. Very impolite.. Well, I'm off to do research.

Heavensgate said:"a preconceived idea or prejudice" in reference to me saying (in context) "..throwing in words nobody understands in a rather unusual way, and then calling them 'fools' because they don't seem to be understanding your long-winded speeches in semi broken English.. You may put people off from talking to you.""
..If you are accusing me of being racially prejudiced, please don't waste my time.
I was brought up to have no tolerance for racism. Furthermore, I am not technically an 'Englishman', I'm Portugese, brought up and educated in England. Talk about judging before you know someone!
Your phrase 'true englishman' reveals far more of YOUR prejudice, my brother.
I am sorry if you found my wording to be upsetting, or if you have suffered racial abuse..
I am not attacking you, I am simply pointing out that you are posting in a 'long winded' way, which means using more words than may be needed, with a writing style that is hard to follow.
When people do not understand a word or sentence you have used, all you need to do is try to explain what it is that you meant. It does not mean that we are not listening..
You can't call people foolish for not understanding, just because your sentences sometimes don't quite make sense. It is unfair, and I find your accusation very offensive indeed. Now, can we discuss the points that I mentioned in my post number 55 in an adult way, and try to not judge each other, please?
*I hold out my hand to offer an apology, will you accept it?*
